Welcome to the message boards! I agree with Eemma --- give it a try. Here are two Kraft chocolate cake recipes that call for Miracle Whip. One uses a cake mix and the other is a traditional cake --- compare the recipes to your chocolate mayonnaise cake recipe.

Welcome to the message boards!

There are two things you can do:
you can try it with Miracle Whip and see if you like it
or
you can make it with mayo - because the texture isn't going to be the same as using it in a salad or on a sandwich. You might be surprised with the difference it makes using it in the cake instead of the more common uses.

The best thing about doing your own cooking is you can modify your recipes to suit your own taste, so don't be afraid to modify recipes to see if you like them better with your changes. Let us know what you decide and how it comes out!

Mayonaisse is eggs and oil.
Miracle Whip has added vinegar and other things you will never find in real mayo.

i have a chocolate mayonnaise cake recipe that calls for real mayonnaise... i hate real mayonnaise! i dont like the greasy, oilly taste it leaves in my mouth. i much prefer miracle whip. can i substitute the real mayonnaise for miracle whip in the recipe?????
