Aspartame is BAD NEWS. I read labels just to avoid this awful ingredient.
Instead of Crystal Light flavors, why don't you make your own drinks? Iced tea, fizzies with fresh fruit and club soda, stuff like that.

I don't have questions about aspartame. I actually know a lot about it. It has been blamed for arthritis, birth defects, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer's, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and diabetes. It has been found to cause 92 symptoms such as memory loss, nerve cell damage, migraines, reproductive disorders, mental confusion, brain lesions, blindness, joint pain, bloating, nervous system disorders, hair loss, food cravings, and weight gain. It is partially made up of methyl alcohol, which turns into formaldehyde when it enters your body. This is toxic and carcinogenic. The FDA has received more complaints about aspartame than any other ingredient to date. When it is eaten with carbs, it slows the brain's production of serotonin. When aspartame was first put before the FDA for approval, it was denied 8 times. Neuroscientists said it was dangerous. The National Justice League has filed several lawsuits against food companies using aspartame. The founder of aspartame, G. D. Searle, was accused of having seriously manipulated test results, making false statements about the product, and hiding facts. FDA Commissioner Arthur Hayes was appointed to investigate aspartame. He overruled scientific review and approved it. Shortly after, he left the FDA when charged with impropriety. He was being investigated for accepting gratuities from FDA-regulated companies when he went to work for Searle (founder of aspartame).

I hope this webpage answer must of your question concerning aspartame.
Kraft I appreciate your Healthy Living section. In Novemeber, 2006 I had high cholesterol and was overweight by following your meal plan and working out with my personal trainer 5 day a week I lost over 30 pounds and lowered my cholesterol. Even though I don't follow the meal plan anymore its been 3 years and I'm still keeping my weight off.
Thank you Kraft for this wonderful website and community board.

I am not a fan of artificial sweeteners. If you do some research on them, you will quickly find out why. Try using natural sweeteners such as Stevia or Agave (my favorite). People use these all over the world. Of course Americans are in the dark about the options that are actually healthy. Natural sweeteners are not bad for you, are natural, and do not affect your blood glucose levels like sugar.

I feel your pain, literally. Aspartame gives me an instant migrain, so I stir clear of the stuff. Now that my husband has been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, we have quit drinking Soda and are looking for other alternatives. We have not seen a single Crystal Light favor that does not contain aspartame. We did find some Arizonia Tea varieties that were sweetened with Sucralose. They were not so bad. We also started making Kool-aid with Splenda(we only use about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of the Splenda). If you do find an alternative, please post it, I would be very interested.

I need to know if there are any Crystal Light flavors that don't have any Aspartame, and only have Suralose? On my diet I can only have Suralose, and I do like Crystal Light, but most of it contains Aspartame, which I can't have. Please advise if there are Crystal Light flavors with Suralose?
Thanks

I agree. I also read the labels and avoid those with aspartame. Mary

Hello. I am a nurse and we have a frigerator full of sugar-free Jello on every floor of my hospital. I am very put off by this, seeing as this product contains aspartame. I do not believe anyone should consume this, but I really don't feel like a caring healer when I give it to incredibly sick patients who need nutrients, not a potentially harmful substance that should be illegal. I am extremely curious as to why Kraft would choose to use aspartame instead of a natural sweetener. Until that happens, I think it's quite ironic for you to have a Healthy Living section.
