As far as healthy goes, I go for moderation and simply try to hit as many food groups as possible, while still making something that tastes good. (Nothing is healthy if it ends up in the trash instead of the tummy.) So, how about stuffed vegetables. Ants on a log are usually well liked. (celery stuffed with peanut butter or pimento cheese, topped with raisins). Make cucumber boats by scooping out the seeds and filling them with deviled ham, topped by grated carrots. My kids love to dip things, so I make a dip of sour cream, brown sugar and a bit of vanilla extract, and they will dip all kinds of fresh fruit in it. Oh, and melon smiles, that they can just pick up and eat the center out of. Those have been a big hit at ball games too.

and i agree with you foxxxxy brown; cool whip is crap - full of chemicals and the fat free stuff has more crap and chemicals than the regular kind. if you need something creamy, go for the real stuff in moderation.

what about an apple and peanut butter? or blueberries? my 18month old LOVES blueberries and shoves them in his mouth by the handful. strawberries too. summer is great for antioxidant rich fruit, always a healthy and tasty snack. once you stop eating crap (give yourself a week or two) healthy stuff will taste better and crap will taste like what it is - chemicals.

Vegetable cutlets are nice. I prepare them Indian-style, because that's the "genre" of food that makes veggies rich and amazing. Still, not sure that there's another way to make them. Anyways, while we're on that type of food, if you live by an Indian grocer, they'll have some fruit custard powder there. Make that. Or, moving on, flan is to die for.

There is no food that is unhealthy to eat as long you eat the recommended amount of its servings.

What gets me is when people say: "I don't eat this because it has this or that in it." For if that was the case everything we eat would be unhealthy.

I've also read the ingredients in Cool Whip, but I also look at the Nutrition Facts to.

If I eat 2tbsp of FF Cool Whip that's 15 calories with calories from fat 0, sat. fat 0, trans. fat 0, sodium 5mg, total carb3g and sugar 1g. and it also cholesterol free and recommended by South Beach Diet.

As a Kraft foods buyer I don't think Kraft would market anything that is unhealthy to consume or eat.

The ingredients scream "unhealthy!"

Cool Whip -- even fat free -- is nothing more than water, corn syrup/high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated vegetable oil and chemicals.

Nothing about it is remotely healthy for you. Except the water, I suppose. The hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup are very bad for you, not to mention the chemicals.

I love yogurt and fresh fruit mixed together - you can also do this with cottage cheese. Sweet potato "fries" (season and bake them instead). 100% fruit juice popsicles (buy them, or make your own). You can make smoothies by using frozen fruit and vanilla yogurt, or sorbet by using frozen fruit and fruit juice.

I'll post more as I think of them!
