You can braise it in liquid (broth, water, wine) or any combo of liquids. Add potatoes and carrots after the first one and a half hours and cook for another hour or so and you have pot roast!

Or, to make it like a roast beef, I would marinate it overnight in a good marinade and then start it at high heat (425) for about 15 minutes and then slow roast on 325 until a meat thermometer reads about 150-160 for med-rare. More time for more well done.

Catalina dressing or zesty Italian will make a wonderful marinade.;)

Welcome to the message boards! I really don't recommend you cook a steak in the oven --- unless you use your broiler. Is that a possibility? Here the link to over 100 sirloin steak recipes on our website. The cooking methods vary --- the vast majority of the recipes use the grill or the stove top but there are some recipes that use the broiler.
