hi, I decided to try it, i think my cinnamon was an unbrand, it wasn't very good. I had a recipe for "carmel apple dip" and it was close to that, but i've misplaced it. I got it from the recipe page in the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch News paper several years ago. annaskf

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought the recipe called for flavored cream cheese. annaskf

Hi annaskf,
Sorry if I confused you, rather than use cream cheese spread, which is the cream cheese in the tub, you can substitute the brick cream cheese. All the other ingredients remain the same. You would follow the directions in the recipe --- no guessing involved.

i would just go with the recipe instructions first, then adjust the seasonings as needed. i think this recipe woud be good with whipped cream cheese!!:)

Hi gardeneva,
Welcome to the message boards! Yes, you can substitute brick cream cheese for cream cheese spread in the Cinnamon-Brown Sugar Dip recipe (and generally, in any recipe calling for cream cheese spread.) Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature first.

Enjoy!

Cream Cheese Spread vs Cream Cheese

When a recipe calls for spread (Cinnamon Brown Sugar Dip), is there a way I can subsitute by just using regular cream cheese? I usually have cream cheese on hand moreso than spread.
