I just have regular pots. I guess they would be called American ovens.

Frank, a french oven is just a fancy name for a dutch oven. I know it's confusing but sometimes they are made in America. Even when they aren't the instructions come translated into English.

But a 2 quart oven is very, very small. Like for a batchelor or a child.

That's pretty small to make stew in unless it's only for yourself.

Hi Jennmroll,
Happy birthday! I think you will enjoy cooking with your French oven (also called a Dutch oven). There are so many healthy stew and soup recipes on the Kraftfoods.com website but here are a few you might consider:

Chicken and Vegetable Stew
Irish Beef Stew
A.1. Beef Stew
Minestrone Soup
Fresh Pumpkin Soup
Chunky Chicken and Vegetable Soup

You can search for healthy recipes by clicking on recipe search and then clicking on nutritional goals. From there you can narrow down your search by clicking on soups.

Have fun! Fall is the perfect time to try new soup and stew recipes!

I just received a 2qt french oven for my birthday and I was wondering would it be good to use it to make stews and soups. If so, do you know of any hearty yet healthy stew recipes?
