Our family was in the same delima a week ago. After tons of research, fits of anger, calls to Kraft and letter writing, we finally found a receipe to make our own version of the Kraft Garlic Cheese roll. I have to tell you it is a promissing substitute. I made this on Sunday and we will put it into our brocolli casserole tonight. Kraft should bring this cheese back, at least during seasonal times. Hope this helps your family. We're in the same boat with you!!
Garlic Cheese Rolls 11/2 pounds sharp cheddar cheese, grated 1/2 pound processed cheese product such as Velveeta 3 ounces cream cheese 1 teaspoon seasoned salt Garlic powder to taste Soften cheeses and mix all together well. Shape into four rolls and wrap well in foil or plastic wrap.

Man, I had the same problem today! I can't believe that there is no more garlic cheese. I think that corporate America is more worried about profit than American tradition. Why if the profit was not there did they just not raise the price and release only during the holidays? If they can get cranberries to fit in a can during the holiday season, they can make our cheese! Everyone needs to call 1800-847-1997 and let them know you want your cheese back!! I sent a comment to Paula Dean too. Tell your grocery store and your friends!

What an upsetting day! I got to the store to get my Kraft Garlic Cheese Roll for our familles traditional Broccoli Casserole and what did I find out..... No more Garlic Cheese Roll! I JUST WANT TO SAY... THIS IS HEARTBREAKING! EVERY HOLIDAY THAT I CAN REMEMBER SINCE I WAS A CHILD, WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD THIS DISH. IT'S A FAMILY TRADITION AND IT MADE OUR HOLIDAY YUMMY AND EXTRA SPECIAL!!! IT WAS OUR COMFORT FOOD, AND NO HOLIDAY WILL BE THE SAME WITHOUT OUR FOOD DISHES WITH THE KRAFT GARLIC CHEESE! I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE EVERYBODY OUT THERE ON THE MESSAGE BOARDS TO PLEASE CALL THE FOLLOWING NUMBER AND ENCOURAGE KRAFT TO RETHINK THIS DECISION! FOR ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT HAS EVER LOVED FOOD PRODUCT AND HAD YOUR HEARTBROKEN TO FIND OUT THAT IT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED... IF THAT HAS EVER BEEN YOU, PLEASE CALL THIS NUMBER AND HELP ME MAKE A STAND FOR THE KRAFT GARLIC CHEESE!!
Food and family ARE what makes up holiday traditions! This has been our tradition for my 27 years of being alive. Even longer for my sister, and Mom has been cooking with this cheese for years and years before that. It's very sad to see our traditional holiday dish come to an end. The people at Kraft suggested a canned cheese, but trust me... It will never be the same.
When I made my call to Kraft, she did say that I was NOT the only person that has been calling. So, I totally agree with the other messages posted that we really think we need to take a stand on this and keep calling!
Thank you to anybody out there that calls the below number to PLEASE bring back the Kraft Garlic Cheese! 1-800-847-1997 ~ Bitter and GA ~

Hi emmalee08, Welcome to the message boards! I'm sorry that the Garlic Cheese Roll is no longer available. On another thread, one of our community members, "Eli2beth" posted an article she found that offers a substitute for Garlic Cheese Roll. It's worth a try!
Garlic Cheese Rolls
11/2 pounds sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 pound processed cheese product such as Velveeta
3 ounces cream cheese
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
Garlic powder to taste
Soften cheeses and mix all together well. Shape into four rolls and wrap well in foil or plastic wrap.

I am very angry that they quit making them too. It is ruining my Thanksgiving. I need it for my most favorite food!

Please, please, please keep selling the garlic cheese rolls!!! Even Paula Dean uses them in her recipe for cheese grits--whatever will we do without them?

I'm a recipe cook, more of an assembler. If a recipe says a garlic cheese roll then that's what I need. I know the test kitchens of Kraft can tell us EXACTLY what to sub for the product - please save my grits!
My last roll was slightly out of date when l used it - Easter Brunch and the Kentucky Derby menus won't be right without cheese grits.
Does anyone know how to directly contact Kraft to help us?

My grandson is a chef. He said that you should buy your own garlic, put it through a garlic press and add any soft good cheese that you like (be sure the cheese is at room temperature) and blend together well. Put on a piece of plastic wrap or wax paper and make into a roll by using the paper to roll it in. Twist the ends of the paper and put in the refrigerator until firm. Use as you want when you want or freeze. Good Luck. You can do this with butter and herbs instead of cheese. Makes a good flavored butter for adding to anthing that requires butter.

Why not use real garlic and cheese? You can buy a bulb of garlic for like 30 cents.

Our grocer here in Kentucky (Krogers) told us that they discontinued making it after Christmas 2007. I am devastated. We need to press them to return this product!
