I agree with Cinderbella, you should be fine using a regular cake pan.
Let us know how it turns out!

vals.....I try to use this "rule" when replacing applesauce for oil in recipes....if a recipe calls for up to 1/2 cup oil, I replace the equal amount of applesauce......anything more than 1/2 cup, I usually do half oil and half applesauce.....my recipes do not turn out well when using all applesauce for more than 1/2 cup-not sure why.
I am pretty sure you can substitute a 13 by 9 cake pan for a tube or bundt pan.....even though bundt pans do make cakes attractive, IMO.

Ok I have given in...this looks SO good so I have copied the recipe and now I have to try this. A couple of questions though; Could I use applesauce in place of the oil? Also, I don't have a tube or bunt pan, can I use something else? Suggestions please.

Considering the other ingredients, I'd probably use the lighter colored brown sugar. That recipe sounds like a really great cake.
Be sure and let us know how it turns out.

Neerastacy, Jen is correct about the flavor and do post the recipe, but let us know which you used and if it is suppose to have a strong molasses flavor. annaskf
