Sounds very much like my mom's Green Pepper Casserole
It had everything you described and the sauce was a can or two of cream of mushroom soup. We use small shells, browned hamburger not made into meatballs, chopped grean pepper, onion, and like I said, cream of mushroom soup. My mom's been in heaven 12 years, now, and my brother just resurrected the casserole last Christmas. Everyone loved it, and it was gone in no time!

Oh Me!! Bea... That sounds like a classic MOM creation. The concept sounds like it would taste wonderful but I'd bet your Mom made it all up. How about a white sauce- like swedish meatballs?? Or, was there any sauce at all??
I am so sorry that I am also at a loss for many of my Mom's "concoctions". May never be able to duplicate, just have those memories... sad but true....

Hi Bea,
Welcome to the message boards! I found one recipe on our website that is similar to what you describe. It does not have mushrooms or green peppers but you could add them.

Cheesy Meatball Skillet:

Here is another recipe you might try:

Skillet Meatball Goulash:

Enjoy!

Looking for Recipe that my Mom used to make

Posted: Jun 27, 2009 11:26 AM
Hello,

I'm trying to see if anyone can help me try to duplicate a recipe that my mom used to make. Unfortunately she passed away before I realized that I really missed this dish she made and didn't get the recipe from her. It was made in a skillet on the stove, with hamburger meat made into meatballs, with green peppers chopped up, mushrooms, onion, and large shell pasta, there wasn't any tomato sauce or cheese, although there probably was some type of sauce in it, but not tomato. Any help is truly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bea
