I use store brand EVOO and have no complaints. I think a lot of it is overpriced just because of the "brand name".

I like the flavor of garlic but that doesn't mean I'm going to eat the whole head at once, so am I wrong there too Sandy? Should I be eating the whole thing instead of just eating enough to please my palate?

As to using another oil all together...using olive oil has some very positive health effects when consumed in moderation.

The whole point of using extra virgin olive oil is its distinctive taste. Using flavorless EVOO doesn't make any sense. Why pay the extra money? Why not just use pure or virgin olive oil or another oil altogether.

In my book most of the supermarket brands are worthless. The best value is Trader Joes' house brnad.

There are three basic types of olive oils: Extra Virgin, Virgin and Pure Olive Oil. The extra virgin olive oil is the top grade of the olive oils. The oil has less than 1% acidity, the olives have been picked and pressed the same day, and the oil has a strong, green color with a perfect aroma. Essentially, extra virgin olive oil should smell and taste just like the olive from which it came from.

Personally, I like Colavita EVOL. I have wanted to try Greek EVOL, but pricey.
