Hi Janice,
Welcome to the message boards! PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese is 1/3-less fat than our regular cream cheese. You can substitute Neufchatel cheese in any recipe calling for cream cheese. You should be able to find Neufchatel cheese right next to the regular PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese in the dairy case. It has a big red banner on the front of the box that says "1/3 Less Fat".

Hi Sims871, Since I happen to have both, because I wanted to see if there was any difference in the taste, haven't tried tasteing yet,:). The neufchatel lists milk, cream, and skim milk, but the cream cheese dosen't list skim milk.So skim milk is the difference, Thats why it has less calories and less fat. Use any type of cream cheese. annaskf

I'm with you Jen, pretty sure they are the same thing and I've used the reg, 1/3 less and Neuf interchangably with no major taste/texture differences.

PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese

I see a lot of recipes call for PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese. My grocer doesn't seem to carry it ...what can I use as a substitute?

Also, what's the difference of Neufchatel Cheese vs. Light Cream Cheese?

Thanks! Janice
