You can also make pinwheels.
I know there are lots of different ways to make them.
My favorite is really quite simple. Soften 8 oz cream cheese and then mix in dry ranch dressing mix (mix well) Stir in two tablespoons each of red pepper, green pepper, and chopped black olive. Spread mixture onto 8 flour tortillas and roll up. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and chill for 4 hours. Unwrap, aand cut off ends. Cut tortillas into slices and serve.
When I make these I never have any left, and I've doubled the recipe.

Welcome to the community, lockwoodX4. You've gotten a lot of great suggestions. I always like to serve as many finger foods as I can reasonably get away with when I have more people than places to sit and eat comfortably, and fruit and veggie trays with dip are a great place to start for everyone.

Oh, also I will be making the cakes, instead of buying them.
My daughter loves turtles, so last year I made her a turtle shaped cake.
My son is also very into Mickey Mouse and so I made him a cake to resemble Mickey Mouse Clubhouse last year.
This year my daughter wants a princess cake, so I will be doing that for her, and not sure yet what todo for my 3 year old.

OKay, here is what I am planning on serving. We are just going to go for snacks, appetizers type foods and cake and maybe ice cream.
Chicken Salad Cups (chicken salad with broccoli served in those cup/scoop shaped tortilla chips)
fruit tray
cheese, crakcer and meat tray
pretzels
Party cucmbers (chicken salad and strawberries served on a cucumber slice)
Since it will be a combined party for two kids ages 3 & 7 I am expecting a wide age range and most everyone likes fruit, cheese and crackers. We'll have to see how well the cucmber slices and chicken salad cups go over with the kids, I am sure the adults will like them.

Since the party is just 3 days after a major feast, I'd suggest keeping the menu as light as possible, dieting relatives will be thankful as well. Fruit and veggie trays are a really good start, for the adults. What age range will the attending kids be? If your kid guest are in the 3 yr old range, stick to the tried and true, like Mac and Cheese with hot dogs, meat balls, or chicken nuggets...finger foods. If you have older children attending, go for your favorite, pizza, just let the guest make their own, smaller versions. Pita bread can make the perfect size. Lay out a "buffet" of toppings, the adults can get into veggie pizzas, or gourmet toppings, like chicken or feta cheese or roasted red peppers.

I too will be planning a birthay party near Thanksgiving. My daughter's birthday is two days before Thanksgiving, and my son's birthday is the week after Thanksgiving. My son will be 3 too (my daughter will be 7)
Are you planning on serving a meal (like the pizza would provide if you were to do pizza) or do you want to go on the lighter side and do appetizers?
Once you decide it can better help you plan your menu.
Since I will be doing a combined party for both my kids, I am going to be doing light appetizers with cake and ice cream.
I agree with coming up with a theme for the party. It's fun to plan foods with a party theme.
For example if your daughter likes princesses, or fairies you can have the kids (or make them before hand) make "magic fairy wands" That is just one idea to get you started.
Take a preztel rod and dip one end of it in white melted chocolate, then roll the dipped end in color sprinkles.
I will share my party menu with you later, but right now I have to go..

fruit and veggie trays came to mind first. Chips and salsa or using low fat/fat free sour cream, cream cheese, etc. What is the party theme...we might could come up with ideas for fruit or other foods that would be cute and go with the theme
