Obviously, from reading this thread, it is something to be missed! I had never heard of it either, but after hearing so much about it here, I would definitely try it if they put it on the market again. You have piqued my curiosity!

My family (including at least 6 homesteads) cannot believe Kraft Foods has discontinued POSTUM!!! We are devastated!!! I agree with others, that if this company doesn't want to provide this product for its many consumers, than sell the "recipe" to a company that will. WE WANT POSTUM WE WANT POSTUM WE WANT POSTUM

P.S. I KNOW a lot more people would voice their opinion of wanting Postum back, if they could figure out how to do it. This was not a simple procedure!!

Oh Kraft, what are you thinking? As we Baby Boomers age we need healthy alternatives to caffeine. There are many products in the market place that have weathered very well over the years. I cannot beleive a revival wasn't in the cards for Postum--with a fresh new approach I think it could honestly have had a nice little name for itself.
Please bring it back. It didn't make it becasue we had to work so hard to discover it--once we did, we loved it and were loyal.
You've completely missed the boat on this. Postum could have had a starring role at many of the popular coffee shops.

Please bring Postum back. My daughter and I live in different cities and are both looking for postum in each store we go in. I still have 2 jars of regular and 1 jar of coffee flavored ( my husband likes the coffer flavored) and I am worried about not being able to find more. There seems to be a need. Please let us know how to find more postum.

Sharon

Postum Lover's Alternative

Posted: Jul 16, 2008 6:23 PM
I grew up loving Postum, If I could I'd buy the recipe and the rights to market it I would. My friend has perfected a new beverage made primarily from roasted Cacao beans and although brewed like coffee has more similarities to Postum , in fact one batch was very close after adding molasses. If you'd like to learm more or get some of this "Choffy" please contact me at "choffy AT mikeshaw.com" I really like this new product and it has no caffeine. I still like my Postum but with only 5 precious jars left it's not something I can drink regularly.

I recently decided to get some of the Postum that I grew up with. It wasn't in the store, and now I find it's discontinued! What a disappointment! KRAFT, please reconsider as your faithful customers had no idea this was coming.

I have found it very sad that many of my friends are missing Postum so much, and that after I started remembering my grandmother drinking postum, and giving it to us as children, that it is no longer available. I started trying to find it again in March of this year. Just three weeks ago, I started looking again in earnest bc I have been told by my doctors that I have to avoid caffeine, acidic foods and beverages, and many other things. So I think many of us who look for healthy foods and try to take good care of our health are being hurt by the loss of this product. It is hard to keep ourselves healthy and find nutritious and healthy food and drink. Oh, I forgot to mention that carbonated drinks are off the menu too now. So try to find something on the market that is not acidic, many things list acidic acid as one of the first ingredients. Postum is missed by many more people each day. There are some alternatives, but none seems as good as Postum was.

Are you so sure that if the numbers did not work before that they would not now. Sometimes people take things for granted until they don't have it. I believe that the sells would be a lot better and just imagine advertising that shows one generation to another enjoying postum. My grand-parents (born 1898) shared it with me....I went to my dad's the other day and he brought postum up (born 1928) I have been drinking it since 1959 when I was 5. I have 9 grand-children and we have had little tea parties with postum. The favorite thing of several is postum with cinnamon toast to dip.

You gave us names to contact.....how to we get to them?

I have said this before........if you do not advertise especially to those who have not been introduced to a product....it is not going to be your #1 seller. Those of us who have been your long term customers have LOST SOMETHING !!!! that is a bigger deal to us then you realize. Postum is selling on ebay for alot of money.....I know some people who tried to get it from Canada. Others have been talking about making there own.....which if it does taste the same is a real pain. Then there are those of us who contacted you earlier and asked if you were not going to make to encourage some other company to take it on. FRANKLY....THIS HAS IMPACTED MY DESIRE TO BUY KRAFT PRODUCTS. Even if you had warned people or encouraged people to stock up! I am so frusterated still.....I surprise myself.
