I'm sorry but I must totally disagree. Marshmallow creme and marshmallows are can be substituted for one another quite successfully.

I've done it for years and years. I've done it so much I just eyeball the amounts but I went ahead and did some quick google research and found that for one 7 ounce jar of Marshmallow Fluff you can substitute 2 cups of miniature marshmallows of about 16 large marshmallows -- and vice versa, of course.

Sometimes the cornstach on the outside of the marshmallow can cause thickening -- if this is a problem you can add a T of corn syrup.

Hi Richardkehn,
Marshmallow creme and marshmallows are not interchangeable. Use marshmallow creme in recipes that call for it. If a recipe calls for marshmallows then only use marshmallows. Here is a link that proves cup measures for marshmallow creme as well as the conversion from large marshmallow to miniature marshmallows as well as cup measures for marshmallows.

There is an answer already to this question in a post that has title Jet puff marshmellow creme vs. ........... It was just answered a few days ago so you should have no problem finding the right post. In it is a link that will convert the marshmellows to creme.

I'm sorry I don't have the 12 big marshmellows, just the creme, that's why I asked the question.

> how much marshmellow creme equals 12 big marshmellows

Rich, I would think that if you melted 12 big marshmallows and measured them in a teaspoon, you could compare it to the marshmallow creme. I will wait till you come back since I am curious about this too.
