Hi Elaine3932, Eemma is right, are you talking about the paper on the bottom of the cake when it's baked? Otherwise you put strips of paper under the bottom layer on the czake plate, ice then pull them put. This keeps icing from getting on the cake plate. annaskf

Welcome to the Message Boards.

I have never tried to remove the parchment paper from a cake after it is frosted because I take it off before I frost it. I have used strips of paper to keep frosting from getting onto the plate when I am frosting it to keep it neater but I don't leave the paper on the cake from baking it. This may solve your problem.
