Wow, I didn't know they needed to be skinned. I didn't even know you ate the outside of it. When it comes to veggies, I have a lot to learn!

Welcome to the Message Boards.

You can either pierce the skin with a skewer and microwave in three minute intervals until the skin is soft enough to remove or you can bake it until it is cooked and scoop out the squash. I prefer to cut the squash in half and scoop out the seeds before I do either of these, though.

Easy Way to Peel Squash?

My family loves squash, but I hate peeling it.
Is there a procedure I can use that would eliminate the peeling part?
I thought I had read somewhere, or perhaps seen it on a cooking show, that you can pierce the skins, and microwave them for a few minutes, and the skins will be easier to remove?
