Twilight (the movie) is actually approved by a family movie ratings sites as good clean fun for kids ages 12 and up. The books are geared towards the same group, written by an LDS (Mormon) mom.
I've seen the movie and read all 4 books and there's nothing in them I wouldn't want my own child to see.
I'm glad your party went so well, blessed. Breakfast sounds yummy!

Had the party tonight. Went great except for a few loud guys. We ate taco roll up things (freezer section), bbq meatballs, popcorn, chips and dip, pizza, and cake and ice cream. Everyone had fun and the movie was cute. In the morning we will have french toast for with different toppings.
Thanks everyone for all the ideas

Not sure what movies the kids are into - I went to my nieces Twilight party - she was turning 13 (not sure is 12 is too young) The decor was swanky - all in neutrals- white sheets thrown over the couches and lots of lamps and candles. They used nice china to eat order-in chinese food and sipped red mocktails called O-negative. There were young men at the party who had not red the books- but still enjoyed themselves. They had a fortune teller set up (a family friend with a magic 8 ball) and a make your own scent station- essential oils and droppers bought from a craft star - I made lavendar musk. The boys mostly critiqued the girls perfumes. For dessert they served red velvet cupcakes that had been iced in a cream cheese frosting and rolled in red sprinkles, topped with a pretzel rod to mimic the cover of one of the books. They also had chocolate cupcakes filled with cherry sauce that bleed when you bit into it- it had vanilla icing and two red drips on the top.
We all had a great time, even those of us who haven't read the book. But check with someone who's read the book first- not sure if its G rated- Good Luck!

Beverly Hills Chihuahua was greenlighted by a couple of family and Christian movie-review sites I checked out and marked as suitable for all ages. It's gotten some really good reviews too. I've not seen it myself, though.
The Kraft site has three user-submitted recipes for Puppy Chow. Here are the search results so you can check them all out for yourself.
You might want to forgo a main dish and just offer a variety of finger-foods so the kids can feed themselves as they get hungry while they play or watch the movie.
That movie pass idea is excellent! I'd say go with that one!

I did ask her and she thought that movie would be good since it was new,and she has not seen it. Is the movie ok, or is there something I should know about it?

I like the movie ticket idea, goes with the theme.
Have you tried asking your daughter what movies she'd like to show?

Thank you all for your ideas, but I am still not sure what we are doing. Have any of you seen Beverly Hills Chihuahua? I thought about that since it hasn't come out on DVD, yet and maybe no one will have seen it in the next 2 weeks. I love puppy chow and have not been able to locate the recipe. Thanks so much. And I had forgotten about the Ritz Bits covered in chocolate. thanks.
I have decided to pass on the glasses. Do not want to promote drinking at all. I know we will have a cake and ice cream. Andof course popcorn and movie candy, just not sure about a main dish or again if I should even do one.
Any ideas on a neat invitation? I thought about a movie pass. And again, thanks everyone for all your help!

Well, if you decide what movie to show, that could help in deciding the menu. You could theme the party based on the show.
Also, there are companies out there that sell edible ink and frosting sheets - both that fit in printers like Canon and Epsom. If you pick, for example, a Harry Potter movie, you could print different characters out and use them as icing on cupcakes for the kids to choose from.

We did a "premiere night" for my daughters 8th birthday. We fixed up a snack barwith menu with prices and a cash register. Each guest was given a small purse with pennies to "purchase" their snacks. We had mini pizza bagels, nachos, popcorn, candy and cotton candy. I also made a cake in the shape of a movie camera. I got all kinds of decorations at the Dollar Tree. We also had the 8 ounce cans of soda for drinks. All the girls had a blast, the movie was Nims Island.
