Yesterday we ate at a steak place for my husband's Birthday. Today we had Fried potatoes with onion and the leftover steak cut into chunks into it. My husband likes creamed corn over this. I like mine on the side. Carrot salad finished this off. If there isn't enough for a full meal fix it, then add a beaten egg for each person . cook till set then turn. I like this one for breakfast. covered with cheese.

I don't think this would be considered a left over, but we raise our own beef, and we have it pkg into 2 pounds. So when I make pizza, I brown the entire 2 pounds, but I may only need a half a pound to a pound, so I take the rest of the meat and freeze it in a rubbermaid freezer container. Works great for quick meals. I take it out and defrost it or cook it for about 2 mintues and my meat is ready to add to any dish.

I have a family of six living at home still, we are rarely home for lunch so my left overs are re purposed into dinners the next night or so. Usually in the crock pot because that is so easy. Someone was asking about chili left overs, well that usually finds the same place as left over taco fixin's. My kids love taco soup, it changes from time to time but basically it's taco meat, water, frozen corn, beans (I used canned pinto and kidney but ready made chili works), and salsa. Throw it all into the pot for the day and serve over corn chips topped with sour cream, black olives and shredded cheese. Hope this helps. The Sawhorse Ranch

It depends on what leftovers I have. For example:
Pot roast is always beef vegetable soup the next day. If necessary I add a few veggies, and V8 juice, sometimes a little beef bouillon, and some some barley.
Roast Chicken is some type of casserole. Add frozen hash browns, or left over rice, a few veggies, and a can of mushroom soup...and voila!
Taco meat usually gets rice and peas and carrots mixed in, then wrapped up in a crescent roll braid with a bit of cheese.
Always, I have a reclosable bag in the freezer that the vegetables go into. i do not butter them, so they dont have added oil. They go into casseroles or soup when there are enough of them.
If we have something from a mix (mac n cheese, scalloped potatoes, etc) I add a little ham/tuna/hotdog and use that as lunch food for the school kids.
I expect these are pretty standard stuff, but thats how I avoid just tossing them out.

Thank you for the recipe! My family is sure to love it. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the frozen leftovers from chili, because it really isn't enough for another meal. Love this site, too! Thanks, Kraft!

SAWHORSERANCH, I cook my roast in the crockpot with cream of mushroom soup. My hubby loves to use the leftover juice/gravy as gravy for his biscuits the next morning.

BellyUpDown, I cook enough for us to eat what we ate for dinner for lunch the next day. Hubby comes home for lunch daily and my youngest has to pack her lunch due to allergies. Sure makes lunchtime easier each day and cuts down on the cooking.

Today my left overs are turning into Vegetable Beef soup. We had a seasoned beef roast with mixed veggies (corn, peas, carrots, green beans). Save the drippings from the roast and reuse for the base of today's soup, add some diced potatoes, onions and some chopped roast. We still have some to also serve roast beef sandwiches with the soup. This can just cook in the slow cooker on medium all day and will be ready when you come home from work.

peggys28, welcome to the community!
An earlier comment stated that that member's family would eat the leftover hashbrown casserole for breakfast... and then another member asked for the recipe to be posted.
Sometimes, a post may not make sense according to the post title, but if viewed in context of the entire thread, makes perfect sense.
And I had said hashbrown casserole tonight, with a couple of minor tweaks for my own preferences, and it was amazing. Thank you for posting the recipe, it's a keeper!

You know, I have all of these things for the hashbrown casserole in my kitchen right now. And I have some sausage as well.
I'm having a thought of what might be coming out of the oven for dinner.
