So easy & people love them!!
Saucy Meatballs bag of frozen meatballs jar of favorite marinara sauce (I use Barilla)
throw all into a slow cooker, cook on high for 3-4 hours, then keep warm in slow cooker when serving
They literally melt in your mouth! My friends always rave over them and can't believe they're frozen meatballs...I tell ya, that slow cooker can work magic

This is one I've posted before and probably isn't exactly the type of recipe you are looking for but it is super yummy and easy!
1 lb whole mushrooms 1 stick butter 1 pkg dry ranch mix
Place mushrooms in a crockpot; melt butter and mix in ranch; pour over mushrooms. Cook on low about 3 1/2 hours. Great by themselves or to use for topping steaks.

I am looking for a tasty marinated mushroom recipe. Does someone has one that I can try for my New Year´s cocktail party?

I know that the original poster was looking for Xmas Eve appys, sorry I missed that boat but... This is something that I haven't done in quite some time, but this sparked my memory. Flatten out "tubed" cresent rolls Loosely fill w/finely chopped pepperoni & mozzarella Add a drop of marinara, or whatever - if you like Seal them up tight like little dumplings or pierogies or purses Space them out on a baking sheet, seam sides up and put in a 400 oven til golden. About 10 - 15 minutes.
Thanks for the memory.... Funny the stuff you forget!

At Christmas Eve last night one of my SILs made tortilla roll ups with imitation crab, cream cheese, green onion, and a bit of garlic salt. They were great.

I think I remember someone posting something about mixing the jalapeno jelly with another jelly, but I've never tried it.
I have a good friend who makes Jezebel Sauce to serve over cream cheese. It's another sweet/hot concoction. This is the recipe she gave me a long time ago.
1 jar apricot preserves - 16 oz or so 1 jar apple jelly 1/2 cup horseradish 3 Tablespoons dry mustard 2 teaspoons pepper.
Mix and chill. It makes a lot -- about 4 cups. It's good on cream cheese or plain meats. I've also used it as a ham glaze. It also makes a nice gift, because believe me there is enough to share.

Mod Jane, I've had the jalepeno and CC before and it is super yummy. Somewhere around here (or maybe in one of my cookbooks that is packed up) there was a recipe that you mixed the jalepeno jelly w/strawberry jelly and that is really good too.

I like a block of cream cheese with jalapeno jelly on top. It looks festive plus it's very easy. In my younger days when I did more entertaining, I would sometimes take a block of cream cheese and top with caviar. I love it, but it's definitely an acquired taste.

YUM! Anything with cream cheese. I like to spread one brick CC on a plate, cover with cocktail sauce and top with baby shrimp, serve w/crackers.
Pizza Dip: Layer 1 brick CC in the bottom of a pie plate, top with a small can of pizza sauce mixed with some diced pepperoni and top with pizza blend cheese. Bake at 350 for 20 min or so until cheese is melted and mixture is bubbly.

Here's an appetizer I got from a friend ages and ages ago that I still love. I can't call them what she calls them, as the name is something her husband made up and is not appropriate for the boards, so let's just call them Cheesy Sausage Bread Bites.. or something...
1 loaf of cocktail rye bread (if you don't like rye, you can use any appetizer-sized hard loaf, cut into thin slices) 2 pounds sausage (spicy or regular depending on your own taste, I like spicy) 1 pound Velveeta
Preheat oven to 350.
Brown sausage, drain and return to pan. Cube Velveeta and add to pan with sausage. Cook until cheese is melted and combined well with the sausage.
Put a small helping of the sausage/cheese mix (about a tablespoon or so) on each slice of bread. Place on a cookie sheet and bake about 10 min or until cheese starts to bubble.
It's really good and the best thing is that you can add other things depending on what you like. Finely diced red and green bell peppers, onions, etc.

Welcome to the Message Boards!
I always find veggie, fruit and cheese and cracker trays go over well. The kids in my family love to have a plate of veggies and fruits with dips to eat - and the guests that want to watch their calories also appreciate the opportunity to have options to help them to not overindulge on the other goodies.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards, but I love Kraftfoods.com! Every Christmas Eve we have a few family memebers over and I always serve a nice selection of appetizers. I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions? Some of the ones I make are little smokies (wrapped in bacon and brown sugar and broiled), garlic shrimp, stuffed mushrooms(with sausage and cheese), cheese balls (the cheesy football recipe from here) and a few others. Do you have any special simple appetizers you love? And I also have 3 kids ages 8, 7, and 4, any suggestions for them? Happy Holidays to you all!
