Thanks! I have found that shredded cheese tends to break down a little and I just don't like that. The string cheese works out really well. I love the balsamic idea too, gotta put that into my standard pasta salad rotation!

I make this for buffet meals and always get asked for the recipe.

Box of shelled pasta
Can of pineapple slices, drained, cut into chunks.
Cooked chicken breast cut into chunks
Sliced almonds
Miracle whip to taste.

Do something simple - how about a good ole tuna salad

box of pasta
can of tuna
1/2 of bag of froozen peas (thawed)
cube cheese (or shredded)
use your ranch dressing or a mixture of mayo, sugar, milk
salt and pepper to taste

What an interesting idea using string cheese. I like using Balsamic Dressing or mixing some Good Seasons Garlic and Herb. Pasta salad is a great way to incorporate lots of vegetables with a small amount of cooked chicken.

I make a cold pasta salad that my family loves. You could omit anything you don't like.
1 pound pasta, whatever you like
1 small can sliced black olives
fresh diced tomato
green onions chopped (green only)
6 string cheese sticks (sliced into little disks)
1 bottle of Kraft zesty italian
Parmesan cheese
Boil pasta, drain and cool under running cold water. Mix with all other ingredients and stir. Better if left to sit overnight. This goes really fast at my house.
I have also made this with greek dressing and feta cheese.
You could add diced ham, pepperoni, canadian bacon, anything that you like would be good!

Need A Pasta Dish

Posted: Oct 11, 2009 5:53 PM
We are attending a Banquet for the kiddos and I signed up for a pasta dish. I have some Bow Tie pasta, egg noodles, and elbow noodles in the frig. HELP! I do not want to have to buy a lot of extra ingredients and am looking to try something new. I have italian and ranch dressing on hand, as well as cheese. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!
