You can also wrap up potatoes in aluminum foil (with lots of different toppings, mushrooms, cheese, garlic) to bake on the fire, then have a table of toppings for people to pour on them.

Have you thought about making mountain pies? You need cast iron mountain pie makers and you can make pizza ones with just ground turkey, sauce cheese or any lunch meat really and cheese between two pieces of bread. You can also make dessert ones in the round mountain pie makers with fruit filling and dust with powdered sugar once they are done cooking. I forgot to mention you are cooking these over the hot coals in your fire. You could ask that everyone bring a snack to share such as salsa and chips, etc.

Not sure what type of meat to have to be honest. I don't want it to dry out or get to cold sitting outside. I was thinking chili cause i can put it in the crock pot and sit it outside. Thanks for the help.

Hi kmays234, Are you having a wiener roast since your having a fire? You could fix several foods in crock-pots, it would be easier to offer ideals if we know what kind of meat your having.

How about chili? You can set up a table outside with toppings - corn chips, sour cream, cheese, green onions, etc.

Hobo dinners in the fire!!--We just had them--I prepare everything ahead of time--Cut up veggies and make the meat patties--then all you need is tinfoil to let everyone make their own.

Trying to think of something easy but good, Don't wanna be stuck inside cooking while my company is outside by the fire. Grilling is unfortunately not an option as we don't have a grill. Do have electrical outlets if need be for crock pot.
