Here is a home made dressing I have made for years that has only five ingredients. Of all the dressings I make, this one is the most asked for. Since all the ingredients are shelf stored, I do not refrigerate it. Usually it goes fast anyway, within a week or so.
Go to your blender and dump all the following into it:
1/2 C salad oil 1 tsp salt (may be reduced or eliminated if desired) 4 Tbs vinegar (either plain or cider) 1/2 C honey 1/2 tsp celery seed
Cover blender and process on WHIP or MIX until well blended. Store in a covered jar or cruet.
Don't have a blender? Put it in a covered pint size jar and shake "wildly" until well blended and re-shake just before using if made this way.
Enjoy...Chef Bill

Don't forget to add a drop of soy sauce to your dressings. It will really deepen the flavor.

I love the freshness of homemade dressings. One of our friends made one that was very basic, using only olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and feta cheese all blended together. I've got to go find that recipe again....

Definately! 2 parts oil to one part vinegar, add 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard, 1 tsp dried herb of your choice, and you have a quick vinaigrette, minus the mystery ingredients, using items commonly found at home. I make dressing for peanuts even when compared to sale priced dressings bought using double cpns.ALOT less salt, which I like, too

Do many people out there make you own salad dressings and marinades??
I started doing it a couple years ago to save money and I highly recommend it for a budget and the taste is so much fresher!
