I will tell you about my way of checking bread because if you tap the bread then use one of the other methods you may be able to tell next time just by tapping the bread. I was taught to check to see if the bread was done by tapping it with my finger. It is hard to describe the sound but they are distinctly different between bread that isn't cooked enough and bread that is finished. It will make a "hollow" sound when it is done. Before it is done it makes a more "muted" sound.

Well I made the bowl and checked it with a toothpick. It came out clean so I figured it was done.
Thanks for the help, I love to learn to do new things in the kitchen.

Take it's temp...bread is done when the internal temp is around 205 degrees.

I usually bake a loaf at 350 for 30 mins or so. It all depends on exactly what recipe you use. You'll know it is done when the underside of the loaf is firm and makes a hollow sound when tapped.

bread bowl

I want to make a bread bowl to use for two ways. 1. Bread for the stuffing and 2. to put a artichoke spread in the bowl. My problem, I can make the dough in my breadmaker, but I'm not sure how long to cook it in the oven for. How do I know if the middle of the bread is done?
Thanks, I would like to make the bread later today.
