I use the recipe on the back of the Nestle bag too. Instead of using butter, I use crisco butter flavored or the regular crisco sticks, plus 6 teaspoons of water. I also bake the cookies on parchment paper. They don't stick. i think the crisco (either one, but I prefer the butter flavor) sticks make a big difference, along with using parchment paper. Everybody I've given cookies to, compliments me on them. Try it this way, maybe it will work better. I also use a melon baller to scoop out the dough, it's a little easier than using a teaspoon.

mix it all up, drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees
cookies will be lighter in color than most cookies. do not overbake. enjoy

Here's a real good chocolate chip cookie recipe...it's delicious...I add more chips to make the cookies ooze chips...
INGREDIENTS
* 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour * 2 teaspoons baking soda * 2 cups butter, softened * 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar * 1/2 cup white sugar * 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix * 4 eggs * 2 teaspoons vanilla extract * 4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside. 2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. 3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown.

I am amazed that people are struggling with chocolate chip cookies at this stage in the game...

I like to take chocolate chip cookie mix, and add a tbs of vanilla, a cup of extra flour, and an extra egg to make it taste homemade.

My wife (ours is a May-December relationship, with me being the latter) makes cookies from the Toll House recipe as well.
She has to make 2 full batches since I "sneak" so much of the uncooked dough!
I have a PhD and a big belly, but still I can't help myself. The dough is positively addictive.

I am looking for a good tried and true chocolate chip cookie recipe that my daughters can make. We made the one on the back of the Hershey's bag and it was not good.I don't know if they measured something wrong, or what. Thank you!
