I'm going to share this idea with the elementary kindergarten teacher, I'm sure the kids would get a kick out of it when she does her Thanksgiving unit.

Hi keynibear, That is a cute ideal for more then just cookies, let your child draw their hand on construction paper then they can decorate/color it the color of turkey feathers. This makes cute name tags for the table or decorations. Befor hand shaped cookie cutters, we just let the child place their hand on the dough and trace around it with a butter knife, no sharp edges and more personal. annaskf

I thought I would have a hard time finding one too, but the kitchen store in our mall had them. You cold also probably check with a craft store like Michaels or AC Moore.
I made these a couple oif years ago for my daughter's preschool class, (since her birthday is right before Thanksgiving) and they all loved it.
I am going to do it again this year, for her 1st grade class. She'll love helping frost them.

LOL. It is a fun idea, but I don't know that I've ever seen a hand-shaped cookie cutter. Maybe I've just not been looking. I can see it now, gingerbread hands/turkeys.

Welcome to the Kraftfoods community, keynibear, and thanks for the idea. Thanksgiving has to be my absolutely favorite holiday of the year.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, here is a fun idea for a cookie.
Use your favorite sugar cookie recipe, and then cut out the cookies using a hand shaped cookie cutter.
Tint frosting red, yellow, brown, orange and green.
Frost the thumb and plam part of the hand brown, and use the other colors to frost the fingers.
You now have a cookie that looks like a turkey. Pipe a face on the thumb, and a wing on the palm.
