I love to broil my chicken, pork chops and steak. You can stuff the chicken with "stuffing" (of your choice there are 3 or 4 different flavors out there) bake for about 35 -40 min always use a thermometer for accurate doneness 350degrees or cordon bleu (swiss, ham bread chicken) bake 325 degrees and my easy fav is zesty Italian chicken, pour zesty italian dressing on chicken breasts in a lasagna pan bake 350 degrees it's easy and tasty. You can add onions carrots for more flavor.

You can do lots of different types of potatoes in the oven. Also, those pot roast bags are great, takes about 2 hours to bake, but they taste great and are so tender after (we like to use chuck roast, seems to have the best result)...if i think of anything else I will reply again!

I like to make green beans in the oven too. I'll take steaks or pork chops and put them on the rack on a broiler pan, put the green beans in the pan itself, and put in the oven long enough to cook the meat (turning the meat when it needs it). The juices that escape give the green beans nice flavor and the green beans come out nicely done. If I use fresh green beans, I add some olive oil to them before baking, if I use canned, I don't add anything usually.

When I bought my home I only had a 2 burner stove top and no oven. I would not recommend buying those electric double burners - they do not get hot enough to boil water!!! I purchased one of them and found out the hard way when I tried to make spaghetti. But they might be ok for eggs and such.

I had a cocktail party last night. I didn't want to use the stove top. So I made the "easy bake cheese & vegetable twist from this months Food & Family issue. It was very easy and a Hit. That's going to be my dish for my "veggie" friends. Enjoy

I'm going back to college and a lot of students that live in the dorms have slow cookers and actually use them. Obviously there are more students that use the microwave or their meal card, but it was really surprising to me to see how much use slow cookers get on campus.

So yes, definitely great for busy schedules, even college schedules lol

Enchilada Casserole
cook a boneless skinnless chicken breast or 2 in the oven. Shredd it and add to 1 can of rotel, 1 can of cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, enchilada sauce, Mix well.
Put down some tortillas in a 9 x 12 baking dish, then your sauce/chicken mixture, some cheese, repeat and bake 350 for 20 minutes.

Crockpots/slow cookers are an excellent idea, also very easy for busy schedules.

My favorite is to quarter 4 red potatoes with the skins on, put in the bottom of the pot, top with 2 lg chicken breasts and a sliced onion, pour a can of cream of chicken soup over it (plus a can of water) and let it cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.

your both welcome,:). What is the saying," necessity is the mother of invention"?!? Our family of 3 lived with out a stove and only a electric skillet and an electric griddle, for about 3 months. Also when we vacation, we really do it on a shoe string, cost wise. I have an electric pressure cooker, that serves as a skillet and 2 qt. pan, and I take it with us and cook a lot of our meals in it, in the room:). annaskf

Hi BrendaEspinosa. QWelcome to the site and congrats on your New Home, May God richly bless you and it! Anything that you can cook on the stove can be cooked in you electric skillet! I've even cooked spagetti in mine. As for the oven, most foods can be put in the oven and cooked/baked. You just may need to increase the time. A few of my family favorite, with canned food is.: Canned beef stew, put in a baking pan and topped with canned biscuits, then bake according to the biscuit directions. You can also put Jeffy corn muffin mix on the top, following the directions. I love corn beef hash & eggs.: put hash in a baking pan, make wells/ h*o*l*e*s for as many eggs as you want, I use 4 eggs per can of hash, drop in the raw eggs and bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes, untill the eggs look done. shake & bake chicken or pork chops, with baked potatoes and any vegitable heated in the oven. Lots of luck, annaskf P.S. Had to put the stars in the word so it would let me post,?:|
