You need to go to your grilling section and get you a grilling thing to cook your vegs on. It is about as long as your grill and has raised sides, like a basket. It isn't quite one though. It allows you to move the vegs around w/o worrying about them falling into the grill. They come in stainless and non-stick. I have a stainless one. When I do my vegs I do olive oil and seasoning of my choice. I typically pick what ever will go good w/ my meal. I go simple from S&P/Garlic/Onion to a prepared one like Mrs. Dash that has lots of different seasonings. Make sure you do your oil before putting them on the grill. You will make some huge flames if you wait until after you put them on to do so.:-D

I have never grilled eggplant but the salting technique does work. I lay slices on paper towel, salt and cover w/paper towel. Let sit at leaast a 1/2 hr. I do this before making my egg plant parmesean or batter and frying them.

Great grilling tips, Garchark07, and welcome to the Kraft foods community. Does the salting work on eggplant? I like eggplant, but my hubby doesn't so much, so I thought I would try some grilled to see if we could find a recipe he likes.

The grilling tray is a great idea! Also, if you like your veggies a little more crisp and not so soggy, make sure you leave the grill lid open. For zuccinni or other types of squash, if you salt the veggies and let them drain for a bit in a colander it gets the excess water out, which makes them perfect for grilling!

Best Wishes Mustangsally87 and congratulation on your new home! I agree with Moderator Jane, invest in a grilling tray spray it with some Pam so that your veggies will not stick. It make cleaning up much easier.

We usually use a grilling tray which helps keep the veggies from falling through, but I've also seen baskets that make turning them over a snap. We grill zucchini and yellow squash a lot. When asparagus was available from the garden, we also grilled that. Asparagus, especially, is quick. I would definitely suggest investing in a tray that fits your grill. We usually spray with Pam to help with cleaning and sticking.

We've used lots of different things on the veggies, dry rubs, all kinds of vinaigrette-type dressings, or just plain Olive oil and herbs.

My son-in-law will marinate them or put a little olive oil then season with different spices. He then places them on the grill on a medium heat. You do need to stay and watch they cook fast. He did some asparagus, onions, tomatoes and zucchini was great. Good luck

I'm grilling a lot more now that I am married and have a home, but I need some tips on grilling vegetables.

I have done the foil packet, which was very good, but ended up just being like steamed vegetables. How do you prepare them? Should I add some sort of a marinade to them so they don't stick to the grill? Tips or suggestions welcome!
