Tonight I made a copycat version of the Chick Fil A Original chicken sandwich and oven fries. Pretty good and less than half the cost of take out.

I'm doing the same. I've got spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove, and butter softening for garlic bread. Later on I will make a salad to go with it all. Warm food on a cool rainy day.

This morning I am putting on a pot of homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs to let simmer all day. It is so nice to have the whole house smell so good. Neighbors come out of the woodwork!

To the person who asked for the oatmeal cookie recipe:

I don't have any oats right now, but I will pick some up the next time I go to the Pig, and will post the recipe on the cookie exchange. Okay?

I made a pot roast in the crock-pot. I diced a turnip, a leek, 2 stalks of celery and 2 carrots and put them in the bottom of the crock-pot. I then sprinkled on an envelope of the Lipton dry "beefy onion" soup mix, and added a couple of cups of water. I dredged the roast in seasoned flour and browned it in a skillet with a bit of hot oil before putting it in the crock pot. (That seems to help keep the meat moist.) I cooked it for about 5 hours and served it with noodles. It turned out really tender, and everythnig was very flavorful.

I am trying to decied between Grilled Chicken Al Fresco and Chicken Enchiladas.

So far I haven't made up my mind, but I am leaning towards the enchiladas.

right now I've got a Crescent Topped Casserole in the oven...cooked 1lb. ground turkey w/diced peppers & onions (sprinkled w/S&P and garlic powder, of course), stir in 1 cup pasta sauce, pour meat mixture into round baking dish. In a bowl combine 1/2 cup sour cream & 1 cup mozz chesse, spoon evenly over beef mixture, sprinkle with parm cheese...top with crescent rolls and bake for 20 mins...

this is something new I'm trying so I'll let you all know how it turns out!
