We had unexpected dinner guests. I made Bohemian Chicken Paprikash with Spaetzels, kernel corn and Italian bread. Thank goodness I had apple/nut cake that I had made Sunday, for dessert.

Last night I made sloppy joes on fresh baked bakery buns, veggie tray with ranch dip, chips and salsa, and fresh fruit salad with fat free cool whip....

tamire1.....Have you ever considered wearing the cheap surgical gloves you can buy in a box of 100? I don't have OCD or anything like that, but I've been using them for years; especially when mixing all types of ground meat recipes. Before I retired, I had acrylic nails and I was always concerned when I mixed meat etc. That is when I first started using them. They're really great and then you just toss them out. Cheap but effective. Love'em!

We ended up having the kielbasa and green beans on the side. I let the three year old pick lol
Tonight I won't be home to cook, so whatever is fast and cheap and not too terribly unhealthy.Subway is always a possibility.

Spaghetti & meatballs / Garlic bread on the side, of course!!! My S.O. would have pasta of any sort & sauce 8 times week and be in heaven but I require pasta in the form of spaghetti w/meatballs. And since I am THEE one who makes those meatballs, it is a rare treat indeed. (HATE getting my hands in all that raw meat, my precursor to OCD, constant washing of the hands, I'm afraid). Up side, I make LOADS, eat what you please, make my neighbor a plate for 2+ dinners, freeze the leftovers. Worth the effort.

My wife made tacos from "scratch:" refrigerated taco shells, canned black beans, hamburger meat, sliced onions, shredded lettuce, grated cheese, taco sauce from a bottle, with a bottle of tabasco sauce handy. Everyone gets a customized taco (or two).

The weather was nice and we were out most of the day helping with brush and tree debris clean up. We had leftovers from Saturday night -- chicken stuffed with shrimp etouffee plus a salad.

I was doing manual labor all day, so I grabbed a fish platter from Long John Silver's when I was done and that was dinner.

A bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for an appetizer, stuffed shells and salads for dinner, and chocolate cake with a whipped peanut butter icing for dessert!
We're probably going to go out next week for a "Valentine's Day Dinner" without all of the people!
But my husband and I had a great evening together...he even got me my favorite Picasso painting (reprint, of course lol...we're not loaded...yet!) that I haven't been able to find anywhere!

Last night was a starter of shrimp and hot shrimp & crab dip; dinner was filet mignon, a whole filet of salmon, pommes anna, roasted asparagus and broccoli, warm bread, and caesar salad. Home made valentine's cupcakes for dessert. We had a friend of ours over for dinner whose wife recently left him (didn't want him to be alone). Our son was with us as well. Simple, easy and tasty. I hope everyone had a lovely evening was well!
