I had a glass of rum.
But for the kids I made hot dog kebabs. Cut up hot dogs, and chunks of potato on a stick. Ketchup or BBQ sauce to dip them in.

I'm sorry to hear that; he'll be in my prayers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I had a crepe last night; I wasn't too hungry......just with warm honey, a dash of cinnamon, and fresh strawberries and raspberries. One sprig of mint and a dollop of cream and it was set.
I made taco soup yesterday even though summer has set in here. I wanted to leave something easy for my brother- and sister-in-law to have when they got home yesterday from his family reunion.
Most of the recipes call for canned beans, but I cooked an extra large pot of beans on Sunday, just for this purpose. I added some chopped avocado, green onions, tomatoes, cilantro and sour cream to top it with.
We had fresh blueberries and peaches from the farmer's market for dessert.
It's still chilly up here, I'm hoping summer sets in soon. Took advantage of the cooler weather to sneak in one last pot of beef stew before it's too hot to cook it all day.
Tonight I have class, so probably another sandwich, but I went and got some Buffalo BBQ chicken lunchmeat from the deli. It looks great. That on some whole wheat bread and some salted popcorn shouldn't be too terribly unhealthy.
> Ahhhh, the mexican food and all that lard must have > done you in.
Well, if that was it, then I must have a weak stomach, because everyone else was fine
And actually, this was probably healthier than most dishes people make, everything was made fresh from scratch, very little was actually fried foods, lots of veggies. Yum!
Tonight I'm not eating so well, though. Have a bunch of things to finish up for class tomorrow, so I have some turkey and mayo in the fridge just begging to be put on a sandwich.
Last night was spaghetti with sausage in the sauce, a large green salad and garlic bread. It was a lot of carbs, but sooo good.
We fixed fajitas with all the trimmings and they were pretty good. They would have been great if you take away the beef skirt we cooked which was a terrible piece of meat. What a waste.
I cooked two pounds of red beans so I can make taco soup later in the week. I love the way beans smell while they are cooking. Simple pleasures are the best.
