Last night was left over grilled turkey and a big salad with lots of different vegetables. I love summer.

We had a blast last night at friend's party. The food was sumptuous and tasty. I had gourmet cheese sandwich and macaroni with coke. The party ended with lovely strawberry ice cream. I wish you also enjoy this combination of food.

Shepherds pie with chocolate cream pie for dessert. Comfort food on a rainy day!

That is bc that is what the ADA tells you, and have everything to lose if you don't buy it.

Every derivitave is bad for you, low fat or not..ice cream, chesse, butter...
Do you know that there is very low heart disease in Europe? You want to know why?
They don't drink milk.
Neither do the Japanese, and they think cheese is disgusting...fermenting cow milk abhorrs them...and look at their longevity and health.
Hard to argue.

Want some calcium? Have some broccoli.

Last night we had hamburgers on the grill, cole slaw & chips! I think anything on the grill makes for a good supper! :)

BTW...I've been following this "milk" post for sometime now & wanted to add that milk IS healthy for you. If it wasn't, they wouldn't suggest you drink 6 cups a day while pregnant. (I'm due in Sept.!) :-D While it does have fat/cholestrol, they recommend the 1%-2% over the whole milk, but they say there's not enough in there to worry about compared to the calcium you get.

Oh, those chicken kabobs sound fantastic! And, of course no summer meal is complete without corn on the cob. I'm dying for some this week. I tried to pick some up at the store earlier in the week, but they were all dryed out and yicky looking.

Last night we had bbq pork sandwiches and homemade macaroni salas. Delicous! The pork was frozen leftover bbq western ribs. I just cut off the fat and tossed them into a freezer bag a few weeks ago. Then last night I thawed them and shredded the meat and dumped in some bbq sauce -- so easy not having to make a "real" dinner last night.

Here is a link for our menu this week. Lot's of quicky suppers.

Last night was grilled chicken kabobs (that had been marinated in the Kraft Balsamic Vinegrette (sp?) for a few hours) creamy chicken flavored noodles & sweet corn on the cob...delish!

Not sure what to do for tonight...probably leftovers...got some from last night, and some sausage & peppers from Monday...and the "doggie bag" I brought home yesterday from lunch

Yesterday I went to the farmer's market, which is really starting to have a lot of variety, and it works great to supplement with what is in our garden. I went to the grocery store afterward and it's amazing how different the veggies look.

Last night my husband grilled turkey breast "steaks" -- marinated turkey breast cut into portions and wrapped in bacon. Plus we had small baked sweet potatoes, some tiny sauteed brussel sprouts and a salad. After so much vacation food, it tasted great to eat a simple meal.

I won't be around later... I know, I know, it's terrible, lol. So I figured I'd post my dinner for tonight. I have class, but I've eaten out a lot and really want to cook up this polish sausage I have in the fridge... so that will be for dinner tonight along with some rice and corn.

Then that store must have made them wrong. It definitely wasn't fried, and it was seasoned so well - maybe a little salty for some folks, but I'm a salt addict anyhow. I know, not good, but oh well.

I did check to find out what the nutrition info on them were and the grilled chicken has 70-180 calories (depending on piece you get - breast, thigh, leg, wing) and the regular fried chicken is about double that.

The grilled chicken, has 4-9 grams of fat and the Original Recipe 7-21 grams, and the sodium content is 440 milligrams (fried is up to 1,050 mg).

So for a fast food offering, not bad at all.

In fact, I am getting more tonight.

Last night I threw together a casserole which turned out suprisingly good...tonight we're having Italian Sausages & Sauce (in the slow cooker) over pasta, garlic bread, iceberg lettuce wedges topped with bacon, diced tomato, cheese & dressing of choice

LOL. Very succinct description. :)

We've just returned from vacation (did you miss me?) so the fridge was, and still is, pretty empty. The house sitter left us a large bowl of pasta and veggie salad (bless her) and I added a grilled turkey and cheese sandwich.

After spending Saturday night in the Miami airport and eating Burger King at 2AM, it tasted pretty good.

You're kidding, right? I tried the Kentucky Grilled Gerbil when it first came out and what it appeared I got was an uncoated, pressure deep fried piece of chicken with grill marks painted on. I didn't know whether to eat it, or take it down to Jiffy Lube to get the oil changed.

I stopped by my local El Polo Loco the next day and told them they had absolutely nothing to worry about.
