Jewels2182......Did you reduce the liquid at all? The next time I make it I definitely will not reduce the liquid. I didn't put it in my post but I also added onion and garlic and added more parmesan cheese...maybe 1/3 cup....more then it asked for. We also sprinkled mozarella on top after we took our portions. I freeze fresh spinach when I don't use it all so I had that on hand. I crushed it in the plastic bag and the pieces were perfect. I guess I had about 3 cups also.

I'm new to this site so I'll have to be more specific when I try a recipe and post it.

There's only the 2 of us, my husband and myself and we really loved it. The leftovers warmed in the microwave were delicious, too.

I made this the other night and it was a hit! My dad usually thinks my cooking is "boring!" But said it was awesome and don't change anything!

The changes I did make were:
~1 lb of italian sausage
~minced garlic and onions cooked with the sausage
~7 cups of spinach seemed like an over kill so I gradually added spinach to the pan until I looked good to me maybe 3 cups.
~I didn't have mozz cheese so I used shreaded romano cheese

I will add fresh mushrooms next time too

If no one has made this recipe...try it....it was a "keeper". I reduced the liquid before I added the cheeses and I shouldn't have done that.
Recipe is quick easy and tasty.

BeachBum1 and dcockrell -----
Thanks a bunch. That's the recipe and I greatly appreciate your responses and so quickly. I thought for sure it was Italian dressing that was omitted; don't know why, though.
This is the first time I've ever posted anything and the recipe sounded so good.
Thanks again to you both!

I copied the instructions from the recipe in the archive. It does not mention dressing. Maybe Kraft corrected it after the magazine was sent out.

MEANWHILE, crumble meat into large deep skillet. Cook on medium-high heat 10 to 12 min. or until cooked through, stirring occasionally; drain. Add spinach and tomatoes; cook 2 min. or until spinach is wilted, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; cover to keep warm.

Is this the recipe? I would not add any dressing to the pasta. Sounds yummy!

Tomato & Spinach Pasta Toss

2 cups rotini or penne pasta, uncooked
1/2 lb. hot or mild Italian sausage, casing removed
1 pkg. (6 oz.) baby spinach leaves (7 cups)
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained 1 cup KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
2 Tbsp. KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese

COOK pasta as directed on package.

DRAIN pasta. Add to skillet along with the cheeses; toss lightly.

Kraft Kitchens TipsServing Suggestion
Serve with a crisp mixed green salad tossed with KRAFT Tuscan House Italian Dressing to round out the meal.

SubstitutePrepare as directed, substituting ground beef or turkey for the Italian sausage.

Ingredient Missing in Recipe - Special 5th Anniversary Issue -

Posted: May 1, 2008 10:56 AM
There is an ingredient missing in a recipe that I want to make tonight.
It's on page 17 Food and Family Winter 2007 for
Tomato and Spinach Pasta Toss.
In the instructions it calls for "add spinach, tomatoes and dressing", however, there is no dressing mentioned in the ingredients. I'm thinking it is Kraft Italian Dressing.....does anyone know?????
I checked for it on the recipe website and it is omitted there, also.
Appreciate the help.
Thanks, Dee
