I don't like mayo either. I heard on food network to use plain yogurt as an alternative. I have had the suddenly salads made by others with mayo and can't tell the difference when I make them with the plain yogurt.

I always substitute light sour cream for mayo in recipes. No one knows the difference.

I don't like mayo and I have a recipe that calls for mayo. Can mirale whip be used instead? Also instead of peanut oil can vege or corn oil be subtituted?

I nearly always use half mayo and half non-fat sour cream in any recipe calling for mayo. It gives a milder flavor and I am always asked for my "recipe". Another idea that makes a wonderful dressing for a pasta salad, is to add some brown sugar to the mayo...really different taste and does not get "watery".

hi, are you talking about as a dressing or cooking it in the recipe. The reason I ask is because when it's baked in something, you don't taste the mayo. So, if your baking it in something, your husband isn't going to taste it. But the suggestions already made do work very well. Granna

Sour Cream will work as well as yogurt.
Yogurt though, would be a healthier choice. If the recipe that you are using requires a thicker product than yogurt would normally be- you can place it in the refrigerator in a coffee filter over a bowl, and much of the liquid "whey" will drain out making a thicker yogurt "cheese". Let it drain for 2-24 hrs, depending on the desired consistency. It is a very versatile product that is a good replacement for mayo.

Plain yogurt works well. It will have a different flavor though.

Substitute for Miracle Whip or Mayo?

Many of the recipes sound wonderful and I would love to try them. However, my husband does not like anything with mayo or Miracle Whip and many recipes call for it. Is there anything that can be used in the place of Miracle Whip or Mayo?
