It might be fun to try and make hard cider. ;)

However, my plan this year is to can apple sauce to use in place of oil in baking. Apples are just beginning to show up in the farmers market.

M Deanne & Vanessa175, Thanks for the replys and the links. I checked both out and they were very helpful, I want to try making cider or juice this fall, I love both:-x. I have a recipe for "milled cider" that uses apple juice and is very good! I drink it hot or cold. My Mom (shes 84) and I have been making jams & jellies. This is the canning year:)

I have a relative that likes to make fresh cider, then toss it in a crock pot with cinnamon and a little tied bag of cloves and nutmeg. It makes a great mulled cider!

I believe that apple cider is a pressed juice from the ground apples, non-filtered. I may be wrong about this but I think the only difference is the pressing/filtering process. Juice is filtered so many times and cider is not.
