Bread does takek a long time to make. I prefer to buy mine in the tubes, so you get that homemade taste without the effort.

Only if you are letting it rise in the refrigerator. Otherwise at room temp or higher it should take 2 hours or less per rise.

Bread. Make bread. There are many recipes. Basically, you will need flour, water, and yeast. It can take some time, though. You may have to let it rise for days.

Culeen1, lol, you are right about it looking like a tongue, but man, do they look so good! If ever I was to eat something that resembled a tongue, I think that would be a safe bet. It sounds like it would be delicious. Thank you for the idea, Lottie! If I don't make them for the bake sale, I will definitly make them for my husband, he would love them! Thanks again.

St. B,
Oh my goodness, these are great ideas! They all sound so darn good, forget the bake sale, I will be making these for my family, lol. I think the jalapeno muffins and parm bread twists sound just perfect. I will be making them for the sale for sure. Thank you so much for your wonderful ideas. :-D

Lottie, the recipe sound delish but after viewing the picture, I'm not so sure. It looks like there is a tongue hanging out of the right side. :_| Ewwwwwww!

You could do corn bread muffins and add jalapenos (and or sausage/bacon); mini quiches (depending on your refrigeration/storage capabilities and outside temperature); Parmesan bread twists (sticks); cheese and herb rolls; a more savory type of biscotti; little bags of seasoned/baked nuts; bags or chex or trail mix...
That's what I thought of off the top of my head- I hope it's a bit helpful. Good luck!

Bake Sale Ideas

Posted: Sep 10, 2007 10:23 PM
Hello. I am having a bake sale this Saturday to raise money for a kitty adoption center and I have a lot of ideas for sweets, but would any of you have any savory bake sale ideas? Something bake sale-like, but not sweet. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
