There was a lady I went to church w/ that made the most wonderful brownies. It is a regular brownie topped w/ peanut butter, M&M, and Rice Chex.

How very funny that I must admit to not having ANY fondness whatsoever for this recipe. I am merely sharing that the "audience" I've shared this with seems to always give rave reviews. I'm such a hoarder of compliments that I thought I'd share..... carrie3211, thanks but I can't take too much credit... Now, if we talk chicken, you are right up my alley.....

I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but the coffee instead of water idea sounds really good.

Thank GOODNESS I am not a sweets girl, my only saving grace... However, I am told by all who have tried these that they are too good for words. I think I may have posted this here before but can't hurt to re-share...
1 box of your favorite FAMILY size brownie mix - 9x13 size- Just follow the directions for fudge-like 3 big bars-like 7 oz- of Symphony w/toffee candy bars 1 bag of Chocolate covered Heath Bits
Pour 1/2 the batter in the 9x13, lay the 3 Symphony bars on top, pour the rest of the batter on the bars. Just make sure as best you can that the batter covers everything. Sprinkle on the chocolate covered HEATH bits (YIKES!) and bake at whatever the box says. Oh me, I never have to worry about leftovers.
Sometimes I use leftover morning coffee for the water or sprinkle some powdered coffee in the batter mix.
Like I said, these don't thrill me but I'm told they are pretty darned remarkable....

Ok, the Milky Way brownies that I tried I weren't too impressive. I think that the one that I received from my friend were a basic brownie w/ chunks of Milky Way in it. It was topped w/ the icing. I did enjoy the icing.
Milky Way Frosting: 2 Milky Way Bars 2 Tbsp butter 3/4 c powdered sugar 1 tsp water
Melt candy bars w/ butter in small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and water, beating until creamy. Spread over cooled brownies.

I've had fantastic brownies with a Ghirardelli chocolate ganache. I don't have the recipe, but she made it with the chocolate and heavy cream...sooo decadent!
I noticed other posters mentioned other little snacks. I've never made these, but you take a pretzel and put a rolo candy on it. Bake until the rolo is squishy, not melted, and push it down on the pretzel. Sounds pretty good!

The only creative thing I ever do with brownies, because they're so darn perfect just plain, is add in chocolate chips or chocolate chunks. I don't even put icing on them or powdered sugar. The simpler the brownie, for me, the better!

I make an old family recipe for Creme de Menthe Brownies that is very similar to this one :
They are fantastic (though admittedly not super 'healthy'!) I've just made the creme de menthe and chocolate layers and spread them over a good box mix brownie. Also very good- though not as good as the original. Cooking Light "updated" a very similar recipe a while back. I have yet to make this lighter version, but chances are it's good as well.

Milky Way Brownies sound delish!! What I do isn't that different but most of the time I stir in 2 cups of Reese's Peanut Butter Chips (not the candy coated ones) my family loves those. I've also done peanut butter cheesecake brownies as well (recipe on this site)...love to hear what others do! I make brownies at least once a week so a change would nice.

Someone gave me a homemade Milky Way brownie. It got me thinking outside the box... I love brownies but I never change my basic brownie. What kind of brownies does everyone else make? Anything strange/different but good?
