That is so true. My mom is probably one of the best "cat moms" I've ever seen, and no matter how she handles their diets, she has one that just is a big boy.

I think cats are like humans. They just come in all body types. I have two cats who get the same amount of food and eat at the same time each day. One is thin and one is pudgy. There is no explanation except for metabolism and genes. My SIL has a Maine coon cat who is not just pudgy but FAT and she gets only a measured amount of lite dried food each day.
My skinny cat likes to lick the last of yogurt from my bowl in the morning, so if he's around I try to leave him a bit.

I WISH my cats would go for the Crystal Light - they are seriously pudgy (and yet they get measured amounts of Lite cat food each day, so we can't figure out how they got that way. Seriously...I swear that we do not over feed them, despite what everything thinks.)
BUT - they do love Olives. If they even hear me open the olive jar, they come running. Plus, one of them also loves yogurt, and when I leave the container out, he puts his nose in so deep that the cup gets lodged on his face, and he walks around with it that way until someone with a brain larger than a walnut takes it off of him!

Cats are such divas. My cat loves lunchmeat and meows at me like nuts when I'm making a sandwich - but she only eats any I give her if it's cut up very small and put in her bowl. Not out of my hand, not on the floor, nothing but from her bowl.

Animals are funny. Our cows love chocolate donut bites. When we get the day old donuts for them they dig through the pile to find those first.
As long as your cat isn't drinking glasses of it I don't think a few tastes are going to bother it.

My cat loves sugar cookies. Any cookies really, chocolate chip, although she doesn't get the chocolate, potato chip cookies, you name it. She likes frosting too. She also likes the pizza crust off of a Totino's Party pizza, but thats the only pizza crust she'll eat. And she will NOT eat the peperoni, ham or sausage that comes on any pizza. She's a weirdo.

The only thing I know of off the top of my head that is toxic to cats is chocolate and coffee (chocolate is toxic to dogs too). I did a quick internet search though and found that the artificial sweetener, Xylitol (found in gum and sugar-free baked goods), is toxic to dogs and can be assumed to be toxic in cats.
I go for the "everything in moderation" when it comes to lots of things, including my pets. You probably don't want to be filling the cat's bowl with the drink, but if she gets into yours, she should be okay - but checkcheckcheck with your vet first to verify that. They will know for sure.
My cat loves Sprite, which I find odd because I always thought cats didn't care about sweet stuff, so it's interesting to see that yours loves something sweet too. lol
