Help with pectin type

Posted: Jul 17, 2008 1:05 PM
I want to make some Persimmon Jam/Jelly and when I found the recipe on here it calls for MCP Pectin. I never heard of this before, so I asked at the local stores. I live in a rural area of WV and they only carry Sure Jell. Does anyone know if I can use the powder Sure Jell for this recipe?
Thanks,
DD
