Welcome to the Kraftfoods community, CourtChick. Foods that take more time to eat -- salads, soups, crisp cooked vegetables as opposed to foods like mashed potatoes and white rice -- will allow your body time to feel full. Salsas can add a lot of flavor to plain grilled meats or fish without adding huge amounts of calories plus they add another serving of vegetables.
You have to watch salad dressings though. They are sneaky little devils that can add huge amounts of calories if you use a lot. I dress the salad before it goes to the table, because I don't like much on mine and my DH won't usually add more. He likes Ranch or other creamy dressings, but he doesn't seem to notice if it's lower fat, especially if I make my own.

I like going for really savory veggie dishes. Tonight we had okra and tomatoes seasoned with pepper, cardamom, red onion, and ginger. He had two big helpings and ate less of the chicken courdon bleu than he normally would have if I would have made just plain ol' green beans or corn.

Along with salad I keep fresh veggies cut up. If they're there, and easily eaten, he'll munch on that with a low cal dressing for dip.
Fruits help, too, mine does well with crunchy ones, takes longer so he feels more full.

Start meals with a big leafy salad or a low fat/low cal soup.

My husband is working on maintaining his 45 lb. wight loss. However, he has a huge appetite! I am finding it difficult to fill him up and stay within his caloric limits. Suggestions?
