I don't thaw them before cooking - that was just stated incorrectly. They're just so stiff and blaahhh once they are cooked. I just felt a lot of the recipes were very similar and didn't offer a lot of variety.
(However, I do want to try that sloppy joe recipe!)

And don't worry, Jill. I'm sure you'll see it soon - some people were talking about the new issue before I had received it. I assume they mail them out by areas or something.:)

I haven't seen the recipe, but why would you thaw the frozen vegs. before cooking?

New Fall 2008 F&F Mag

Maybe I'm the only one who felt this way, but I wasn't crazy about a lot of these recipes in this new issue. It seems like everything either had Stove Top Stuffing or frozen mixed vegetables.

I find Stove Top overpowering in most recipes, and find frozen mixed vegetables very stiff and unappealing when they're thawed and cooked (I know I could just use fresh or canned, but still....). I don't know...I guess I was just looking for a little variety since the holidays are around the corner, and it's all about trying new, innovative recipes.

Hopefully the Winter issue won't disappoint!

But one great thing about this site: the recipe search...I'm bound to find loads of recipes to try.:)
