I drink 2 cups of French Vanilla Cafe a day. I just now used one of the "new" tins. I assumed it was the same thing, just a new look. It does not taste the same. During a good sale I bought a ton of these to stock up. What am I going to do with them now? I didn't keep any receipts for them. Why on Earth change something so delicious?????

This just shows if you have a product that taste great and consumers love it, don't change. Odds are the new changes will make it taste horrible. If it isn't broken don't fix it.

I agree completely with you AMY990940. First let me say I am a huge fan of GFI French Vanilla Café. I purchase the large 27 oz. container a couple times a month at Smart and Final. However, I noticed, sadly, that the product now has a “new great taste”. I really do not think it is so great. The flavor is not as creamy and does not froth as much. You can also realize the lack of creaminess by the fact it is not as white when mixed. I also used to enjoy a great underlying taste of the coffee, but I can barely find the coffee flavor. Now it tastes more like surgary, hot vanilla. I am going to go to other Smart and Final stores in surrounding areas where I live and see if I can find some of the ‘old’ product then I will be done.

Hi pdfoot!

Not to worry – your stores are still carrying your coffee, just under a different name! GFI French Vanilla Café is now GFI FMMH Vanilla Bean Latte – you can have the store managers check the UPC to be sure: 043000000045. They reformulated the coffee mixes in July to foam when you make it and the new names also show that General Foods International is from the Makers of Maxwell House.

Thanks!
Claire

My husband and I drink this every day. HOWEVER, we drink the decaffinated one with the real sugar. Now, all of a sudden, none of the stores in our area (zip code 61604) are carrying it. Only carrying the vanilla bean latte. I was told to contact the store managers. We had always purchased at Target or Schnucks Grocery, neither one have them. When contacting Target they told me they can't get it. Wal-Mart was carrying it and I don't shop there but did go in JUST to purchase this and they had replaced it with the Vanilla Bean Latte. I know that what we drank was never on the shelf long and cannot understand WHY I can't get this locally. At one time even ordered from Amazon and can't find it there either. HELP! We are upset and WANT OUR COFFEE BACK!

I agree it is nasty!! It is no longer coffee but a coffee drink mix.

I've been drinking this for years and bragging about it to everyone I know. Now that you've changed it, I can't stand it. The flavor is horrible. It was smooth and creamy before and now it's like an artificial sugar substitute has been added or something. Please consider using the old recipe.
