Hi There

I stock up on:

Tuna
Stewed Tomatoes
Tomato sauce
Whole wheat and flax seed pasta, all shapes
Chicken and beef stock
Kidney beans
rice; white, brown and wild
Spices, spices and more spices; Clubhouse spice mixes are good too
fresh garlic

In the refrigerator;
Lots of salad dressings
low sodium soy sauce
hoisin sauce
chili sauce
Low fat Mayo, honey mustard and dijon mustard (good for baking foods as well as sandwiches)
non fat yogurt

I make a list of recipes for the week. I write down everything I need, including fresh veggies and fruit. I only buy what is on the list and I am set for the week. It takes the stress out of weeknight cooking, not to mention I do not have to worry about grocery shopping.

Good luck to you!

I have shelves in my garage with canned and non-perishable stuff. My problem is... I either have NONE of what I want or 3-4 cans?? For example... NO kidney beans when I want to make chili?? One of the markets I frequent has periodic sales on canned stuff. I stock up on veggies (though prefer fresh or frozen), tuna, "good" soup (Progresso is a fave). Have a lot of different pastas available.

This post made me think of people rampaging the markets before a predicted snow storm?? If power went out... I'd be in trouble. BUT wouldn't starve for a LONG time!

I keep pretty much the same items as the previous poster does. It's a good all around list. I would add to that a few refrigerator items like cheddar cheese, cream cheese and eggs.

If you were to open my panty or frig on most days, you'd find:

Pasta
Diced tomatoes
Tomato sauce
Spaghetti seasoning
Taco seasoning
Cream of mushroom soup
Cream of chicken soup
Rice - Flavored, Brown and White
Hamburger or Tuna Helper
Tuna
Mac and Cheese
A couple of cans/packages of veggies
Dressing - Italian has many uses
Meats that I can freeze like hamburger (perfect for spaghetti and tacos)

I hope this helps!
