blessedmommy, I love candied sweet potatoes. This time I topped them with the New Swirlmallows from Kraft's, Caramel & Vanilla. they were really good, just next time I will use a little less brown sugar, because they were really sweet to:O.

We love baked sweet potatoes and apples. Cut the potatoes and apples into chunks, put in baking dish, add some brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. I also add about a 1/4 cup of syrup. Bake until done.

Mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce, green beans, deviled eggs, cream corn, rolls, and tons of desserts. My mother made a pumpkin roll a few years ago. Everyone liked it.

Welcome to the community amanda. =)

Pumpkin bread is a nice treat for a pumpkin side. Squash with brown sugar is a staple at our turkey dinner, as are dinner rolls and cornbread.

Welcome to the community, Amanda! Good luck on your Thanksgiving dinner! One tip for you: Make sure to "test run" any new recipe first so that you know if you need to make any tweaks to the recipe or cooking time before Thanksgiving.

Let us know how it goes!

amanda63007, Congrats and lots of luck:). I love turkey breast in the crock put. I fix the same recipe two different ways. i'll list the 2nd. ingredents in ( ). 1 4-6 lb. turkey breast, 4 stlks celery chopped fine, 1 med. onion chopped fine or(1 package dry onion soup mix). Just enough water to cover the bottom of your crock pot. salt & pepper to taste or (seasoned salt). Put a turkey breast in , cavity side up after salting & peppering in crock pot and top with the onion & celery, then one stick of butter or margarine. Cook on low 8 hrs, high 6 hrs.The turkey will be very moist. I have done this and put B.B.Q. sauce on it. I would use the broth to make the gravy. Someone else needs to give you that recipe,:). i use canned because mines hit & miss,:(. annaskf
