Hello,
I am sorry to hear about your son's allergy but I can sympathize with you. I have a daughter who is also allergic to egg and everything that has to do with eggs. She was four years old when she was diagnosed and she's 12 now. I have a cook book just for her and it has been a blessing to me. The name of the book is "Bakin Without Eggs" by Rosemarie Emro. I got the book from Amazon.com. It has all kids of recipes in it for just regular things like pancakes and waffles, all kinds of cakes, brownies and other things. It gets easier once you learn what has eggs in it( Hamburger Helpers). If u like to contact me via email I will be more than happy to help you weed through this tough phase. Neandrea2000@yahoo.com. I am also happy to help others who suffer from this allergy. I"ve had to do alot of research and investigating to be able to help my daughter through this.

My seven year old also has egg allergies (and peanuts and chicken and turkey). I've become very good at reading labels! One thing that she loves is her ice cream birthday cake. I have made traditional cakes from scratch without the egg but she doesn't care much for them. So, with her being an avid lover of ice cream, I have put nonallergen cookies (Oreo and Chips Ahoy are her favorites) into my food processor and then mixed with butter until barely moist. I press this into the bottom of what I call a flan-pan (the kind you make cheese cake in) and freeze. I then top it with softened (not melted) nonallergen ice cream and put back into the freezer. We've decorated it with the Kool-aid mix that is presweetened by lightly sprinking across the top of the ice cream. It makes it very pretty and makes the taste more interesting. She absolutely loves it.

Sorry to hear that about your son. Have you tried www.recipezaar.com? If you open the recipe sifter (click the recipes tab) you can select egg-free under the diet section of the sifter. You can continue to narrow your choices down until you have selected everything about the recipe that you are looking for (course, prep time, etc). I hope this helps you and your family out.

No answers, sorry. I, too, am interested in the answer. I love eggs and cheese, but I am working on being vegan.

Egg Allergy

Posted: Aug 20, 2009 12:32 PM
My son was just diagnosed with an egg allergy. No eggs, egg substitutes, anything containing egg or egg proteins or even made in the same factory that has egg products. It's a PAIN! I need some help! I really need a bit of good recipes that are completely egg free and don't really know where to turn. Any ideas? Love Kraft recipes... but a lot contain mayo, ranch dressing, breads...... any ideas would be appreciated! :)
