I'm very concerned with the sodium. I know it's a preservative, but I have high blood pressure. Once you're used to eating less salt, everything tastes to salty. But they have a lot of wonderful healthy cooking recipes.

I agree with Moderator_Jane, I just make sure I'm not serving too many salty items each day. My husband has high blood pressure, so I very rarely add salt when I cook, and I look for no salt added tomatoes, reduced sodium products, etc. I love salty foods, so I keep the salt shaker on my side of the table.
Detiger, way to go! Losing 50 lbs is a fantastic accomplishment!

Kraft foods are so high in sodium becasue sodium is used as a preservative.
Kraft's foods are processed and preserved with sodium and other chemicals, so it would be very hard to reduce the sodium in them.

I am also in agreement. I am trying to diet and do like the South Beach Meals, but I am also Diabetic and have High Blood Pressure which is under control with meds. However I would like to see Kraft or someone find a way to reduce the sodium levels in these meals. So far I have lost 50 pounds.

My husband has hypertension and needs to watch his sodium. I don't use much salt in any thing I cook and we don't add salt at the table. Whatever I cook, I pay attention to the sodium content and always take it into consideration. Many of the meats that are sold in grocery stores have sodium solution added to extend shelf life.
I don't necessarily eliminate all foods we love just because of the sodium, but I make sure I'm not piling it on with several dishes laden with salt at any one meal.

Isn't anyone concerned about the high sodium levels in packaged foods? This really rules out a lot of Kraft products for me. They taste so salty, and it's not healthy
