I'm replying to two different posts here.
First off, as a type A blood type, I guess you can call me a "go getter". Always something to get done. But, my health is extremely good in my book. Had my cholesterol check for the first time ever in January. My bad cholesterol was 49 and my good cholesterol was 100. Can't get much better than that, and high cholesterol runs in my family! I eat right and get plenty of exercise. Longevity also runs in my family.
Now to reply to another post. About the dairy cows being mistreated. Have you ever visited a dairy farm? I just wanted to let you know that the only time the dairy cows are in a stall is when they are being milked. It only takes about 5 to 10 minutes to milk them and then out to pasture they go. And I know there are people out there that think it hurts and is harmful to the cow when it is milked, it is neither. If the cow is not milked regularly, then it becomes painful and engorged. Many cows will step on their udders to relieve the pain. Years ago, many many years ago, my father worked for a dairy. He has told stories about cows stepping on their udders and pulling them off because they needed milked.
I know you said you don't believe in PETA, and neither do I. They are firm believers that milking a cow is harmful to the cow, when not milking it is!

Umm, not quite...I am about as type A as you can get, and I don't, and have never, eaten "crappy" food..

Basically, dairy cows are kept in small cages where they can't move. They're over hormoned so that they can produce more milk and get pregnant more often and their calves are taken from them at birth. The females are raised for more dairy cows and the males, for veal meat.
The following sites will give more information: www.veganoutreach.com www.mercyforanimals.com
Also, the following sites is informative for vegan health; I have more sites as well, which I will provide if you request it. (Also, a search for "vegan health" or even "health for vegans" or something like that, should yeild good results.) www.veganhealth.org www.vrg.org/nutrition
I hope this helps.
PS: The PETA sites can be informative, but I really don't condone PETA. They're too hellfire and damnation, even too mainstream for my taste.

I haven't been posting for a while, but I see that Pickles is still involved in her "veals" campaign.
Anyone heard from her?

Just to clear things up... Type A's just have a fierce motivation to get stuff done. They persevere through thick and thin...although they tend to have heart attacks at an earlier age, no matter what they eat. Chances are they live a faster lifestyle and eat crappier food. Type B's are more chill. They are less successful yet most likely to engage in a more recreational lifestyle (you know what I mean), I personally am a type A, yet my fiancee is a type B. I think we may balance each other. I am okay with the fact that he will live longer than me, although I will be more successful. We've talked about it...

I thought type A's have high metabolism so they can run around a lot. Or am I mixing that up with A people who are workaholics? I forget the vocabulary there.

I eat a lot of meat. I don't consider myself to be big, very tall, but not big. Although I think it was all the red meat I ate during my pregnancies that made me gain so much weight during them. I have recently found out that for my blood type I should not eat red meat. I am a type A, and type A's have a slower metabolism when digesting meat. I couldn't stand pork or poultry and the doctors & nurses always expressed eating lots of red meat. But, on the plus side, I also discovered that coffee is very beneficial for my blood type. I can drink as much as I like!!

Mandi, do you mean that you are big and eat meat or that you eat a lot of meat?

Just so you know, I am a big meat eater, yet I do agree with you on some of this. I do wish you could explain to me what is being done to dairy cows that is harmful? I know the conditions the chickens & turkeys and calves (used for veal) live in.

It's not just veal, but the meat industry as a whole and what is also done to chickens (both for meat and eggs) dairy cows, turkies, ham, etc. This is why I went vegetarian and eventually vegan, not to mention the rape and destruction it does on the environment.

If the veals are blind, maybe they don't know that they're living in the dark. But we can't know that for sure unless they are given a vision test.In any case, they have to notice the bats and spiders.

That's a good point. All the more reason why we need to help Pickles! save those poor, innocent, blind veals.
