Welcome to the Kraftfoods community, djspears. St boisterous' suggestion to talk to a dietitian is a good one since you are dealing with multiple issues with your sons.

I have a very close friend who has celiac disease. She gets most of her gluten-free flours, crackers and breads at our local health food store, but you are starting to see some gluten-free products showing up on the regular grocery shelves.

It's not too difficult to go dye and preservative free if you cook mostly from scratch, but for me a gluten free diet would be a real challenge.

I recommend that you go and speak with a registered dietitian (RD) in your area. He or She will be able to address all of your concerns, provide you with resources and ensure that you are providing your family with the best diet possible (and meeting all of their nutritional needs). You can find one at www.eatright.org or through your local hospital.

Gluten-Free Kids

Posted: Aug 9, 2009 3:14 PM
I have two sons, one who is autistic and one who has a very sensitive stomach. I have decided to try a Gluten-Free diet for them ( I have family members with Crohn's Disease).

My question is what typical foods have you found for you special kids. Has anyone else gone on a dye and preservative free diet as well? Any good generic recipes? Which companies taste most like the real thing?

Thanks,
Danielle
