My husband and I hide them from each other. He wants them for his shop, I want them for 'stuff'. The kids each have one to hold their hamster/rat food.

Me too! Sugar. Cookies. The candy I don't want my son to find. I actually have one that I use for paint - I have paint in a five-gallon bucket, but I filled an empty container up with paint so it's handy to have around for touch-ups.

I hate the new containers. Do they have anyone that has arthritis working for them? Apparently not. I have to get someone to open the container for me then I can't close the lid or I'll never get it open. Have they ever seen a 56 year old women who hasn't had her morning coffee? I think not.

Sorry you had the problem. I don't use coffee much anymore but I can totally understand your concerns about the new container.
The first question on the "Contact Us" page is "How would I contact Kraft?" and the answer to that is where you find the 800 number and the place to send an email. A little convoluted, I know.

Thank you Sky, I was unable to find a direct e-mail link from the main page. I first dialed the 800 number on the plastic container with the loose top, but I would have to have called during business hours, all I got was a recorded announcement to that effect at the time I had tried.
Thank you as well Eemma, and I did try clicking the "contact us" button when first trying to e-mail comments. I just tried it again after reading your post. If you try it yourself, I think you'll see it dumps you into a dead-end FAQ page, and I didn't have a question.

I believe both of these methods to contact Kraft without having to sign up are available in the gray "Contact Us" at the top of the page above the blue menu bar.

I've been drinking Maxwell House coffee for most of my coffee drinking life.
We shop at one of the warehouse stores and buy our coffee 4-6 cans at a time, and our next-to-last purchase was in 48 ounce metal cans.
When we went to buy coffee this past week, packaging had changed and for our last purchase, had to buy the "new" plastic containers.
This bothered me, both due to both the environmental concerns of plastics, the use of petroleum in their manufacture, and especially because I save and reuse the empty metal cans for many, many things.
We only bought two of the plastic containers, so we could see how it would work out.
I opened the first one this morning, and my wife and I were VERY disappointed to see that it cannot be properly resealed.
Even here on your website, it is clearly suggested that the only way to keep the coffee fresh is to keep it tightly sealed, even refrigerated for longer term storage, even frozen for longer term storage yet. Unbelievably, the new plastic container, in that it will not seal once opened, defeats even your own instructions on coffee storage.
While Maxwell House is my preference for coffee brands, there are so many other choices, we really do not feel compelled to tolerate the new container.
Even the previously "cheap" seeming foil bags, such as those offered by the local Dunkin Donuts, offered much better sealing.
One of the previous poster mentioned that the lid will come off if the container is lifted by the lid. This is of secondary concern, but does demonstrate just how insecure these closures are. The lid actually rattles and the lack of any sort of seal is readily apparent.
I just wasted five minutes of my life moving the coffee from the plastic container to the metal can I emptied this morning.
I am not much for ultimatums, but will say that I don't plan to continue buying my coffee in these unsatisfactory new containers.
Further, while I though I could make this comment in a simple e-mail, to offer ANY feedback at all I found myself forced to register for this useless (to me) food forum, replete with a forced marketing survey that has nothing to do with the subject at hand. In addition to wasting another five minutes of my life with the registration process, I can probably safely assume that now, I will also be deluged with junk mail from Kraft and it's "associates".
I am regretting my effort to communicate with your company already, and only did so in an effort to continue using your products, which I will give additional thought to in the future.
"Thank you"

the new containers do not seal well. be carefull if you pick it up by the lid. (even though it does have a handle). the lid pops off and the coffee goes everywhere. i reuse the old cans for a variety of things on the farm. the petrolium based plastic is not a good idea in these energy starved times.

Greetings,
I am 57 years old & I began drinking Maxwell House coffee at the age of 11. I was delighted when you came out with "Lite." I work from home and drink 1 or 2 pots of coffee each day.
Even so, I'm pretty sure you have not noticed I do not buy Maxwell House anymore. I'm assuming the plastic containers use foreign based oil. Since I am getting off as many oil based products as I can, I regretfully had to stop purchasing your coffee.
I hope you re-think this container or let us know it does not contain ingredients that we purchase from people who hate us.
Thank you for any consideration you give this issue.
