19 kids??? I have 7, and I think that is a lot..I only have 3 home now, but when they were all home, I would just cook in mass quantities..I rarely followed a recipe, just kinda did my own thing..

Just out of curiousity, after 19 kids, what does your mother's body look like??? I work out constantly to keep my stomach flat, but after 19 kids, I think it would be a lost cause..:_|

Okay, even if the Duggar parents aren't eating, it seems impossible that these recipes could feed 17 kids. Unless we are talking about more than one at the same time.

So much counting being required by Kraft today. It's not fair!

You probably can't make it for one person. However, that recipe looks like it can easily be divided by 3 - so I'd make it that way ( ie: 1 lb ground beef instead of 3 lbs, 1 can instead of 3, etc). Then freeze whatever you don't eat into smaller portions to have at a later date.

Or you could make it all & invite all your friends over for a soup party :)

Val, if you think this is great, look at the Hashbrown Casserole! It has fried potatoes, soup, and cornflakes. ;)

Thanks for the tips and I'll appreciate them to continue! I now only have 8 at home, the others have left the nest. I help my mom as much as possible, I'm number 11 of 19. I'm hoping I don't have this many children. It's hard enough to grow up in a family of a bunch of kids but when mom's gone someone has to cook!

You should probably just double or triple the recipes you are making. Or refuse to cook. I would never cook for that many people.

Cooking for 8

Posted: Aug 28, 2007 4:31 PM
Does anyone find it difficult to cook and keep on track when you need to cook for more than 2 or 3 people? I cook for 8 and am finding it difficult to stay on track.

Are there any suggestions for me out there.

Thanks for your help!!!
