You can do a veggie plate and some cheese & crackers or spread, maybe a tray of finger sandwiches from the deli.

I agree with you on the finger food idea. My husband and I went to two receptions this passed Sunday and it reminded me how difficult it is to balance a plate and a drink of any type when you are standing. Individual bites of yummy treats you can pick up with your fingers always seem to be the easiest to manage.

Ha Ha! You are right, I guess that was a stupid question to ask. I live in AZ. But thank you so much! I didn't even think of finger foods, but that sounds great.

You must live somewhere really warm! Here in North Alabama it is very cold by the first week in Dec...long before actually so here, yes it would be way too cold. My thought's on a shower or any type party like this is finger foods. Everyone like's a plate full of little bites of different things. Also convenient, so many things can be made a day or two ahead and the baked off (whatever need be) the day of. Lots of crock pot ideas to have simmering away too so your not cooking all day. As far as a mind dish goes if you end up going that route...everyone loves a good lasagna, bowl of chili, soup or stew with cornbread muffins, BBQ in the crock pot is easy and good, Beef tenderloin sandwiches, various types of quiches, If the men will be there you could always have them fire up the grill. Lots of luck to you! Hope it turns out well. Let us know what you decide on ok!

Baby shower

I am throwing my sister a baby shower the first Sat in December. It will most likely be outside early afternoon. First of all, do you think that will be too cold for people? Second, what should I make for my main dish? I have lots of idea's about desserts, but none for the main thing.
